Children and Youth

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Section on Children and Youth is to encourage the development and dissemination of sociological perspectives on children in the areas of research, theory, policy, practice, and teaching. Here, the term "children" includes every human being from infancy through the transition to adulthood.

Our most up to date website for the Section can be found at There you can find real time information about section news, including calls for awards and conferences, and even interviews with section membership by our Newsletter Committee.

While you're adding bookmarks, you can find us, too, on Facebook and Twitter.
